Lost Dog: Winnetka Police Find Owner

UPDATE: Shortly after 5 p.m., police announced that the puppy, identified as Cocoa, has been reunited with her owner. The Winnetka Police Department thanked members of the public for their assistance.

WINNETKA, IL – Winnetka police asked for help from the public to identify the owner of a puppy found Friday. Police said they received a call of dogs running loose in the street at around 11:30 a.m. near the intersection of Pine and Locust streets.

Then, shortly before noon, another caller told police they had managed to wrangle one of the loose dogs, a Boxer. The caller met responding officers at Once Upon A Bagel to hand over the canine.

Police said the dog was not microchipped and had no collar or other identification.
