Low Income Home Energy Assistance Applications Now Taken at New Trier Township

New Trier Township and the North Shore Senior Center are helping eligible households apply for energy assistance grants.

New Trier Township and the North Shore Senior Center are working together to help eligible households wishing to apply for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). Representatives of the North Shore Senior Center are now accepting applications at the New Trier Township building in Winnetka from 9:00 a.m. until noon on Thursdays.

The LIHEAP applications are taken by appointment only. Applicants should phone (847) 784-6040 to secure a time with a program representative.

In order to apply for the LIHEAP program, the following documentation is required:

· Proof of Social Security number for all members of the household

· Utility bills issued within the last 30 days

· Proof of current 30-day gross income for all household members
