Person's second goal seals 6-4 win over Lake Forest.

Top Scout Performers: Loyola staked a 2-0 first half lead on goals by Brendan Dowdle and Connor Person. The Scouts answered back with goals by Sam Moran and Joe Kurschner. Loyola took the lead for good on Daniel O'Malley's first of two goals for a 3-2 halftime edge. O'Malley added his second in the third quarter followed by Tim O'Connor for a 5-2 advantage. Andrew Clifford and Ryan Tupper brought Lake Forest back to within one, 5-4, with 7 minutes, 30 seconds left to play, but Person scored his second goal to ice it.

Other Notable Scout Performers: Loyola goalie Kevin Steger made some athletic saves to thwart the Lake Forest offense. The Rambler defense kept the ball out of their end of the field, allowing the Rambler offense to control the tempo in the second half.

The Bottom Line: Loyola last earned a state title in boys' lacrosse eight years ago on the same field in Palatine. The Ramblers finished 16-0.
