Max Weinberg Will Host Ravine Bluffs Gala

The Rock-n-Roll Hall-of-Famer jumped at the chance to host the Frank Lloyd Wright celebration event in Glencoe.

Max Weinberg is well-known as a noted musician, famous as the drummer for Bruce Springsteen’s E-Street Band and his role on Conan O’Brien’s late night shows.

But what few may know is that he is quite the fan of legendary Chicago-area architect Frank Lloyd Wright.

“It’s a passion that started when I was seven years old and has gone on my whole life,” Weinberg told the Daily North Shore.

So it somewhat makes sense for Weinberg to host the the Ravine Bluffs Centennial Gala, an October 3 event at Am Shalom Synagogue to celebrate the end of the village of Glencoe’s year-long celebration of Wright’s Ravine Bluffs development.

Weinberg heard about the Gala from his best friend and manager, Glencoe resident Mark Stein. He jumped at the chance to host the event and provide entertainment.

o when his best friend and manager Mark Stein, who also happens to live in Glencoe, told him about the Centennial Gala Weinberg jumped at the chance to host the event. When he realized the organizers were looking for entertainment, he also offered to perform with his jazz quintet.

“What the [Glencoe] Historical Society is doing is shining a spotlight on just how precious these few houses in Glencoe are,” Weinberg said. With 13 Wright-designed home, Glencoe has the third highest concentration of Wright structures in the world.
