Middle School Dance Workshop With New Trier Dancers

The workshop is open to students from sixth to eighth grade, offering a chance to learn about the art.

WINNETKA-GLENCOE, IL - From New Trier High School: On Wednesday, Dec. 19, New Trier High School’s Dance Division will host its first annual middle school dance workshop, followed by a joint performance with the Northfield Dance Ensemble (NDE), the high school’s no-cut dance company that is open to all New Trier students.

“The Middle School Dance Workshop is an excellent way for New Trier's Dance Division to bring dance into the community,” NDE Assistant Director Katie Kritek said. “Middle school students will have an opportunity to take a dance class, perform, and connect with dancers their age and older. It will be a fun and rewarding experience and a way for younger dancers to feel comfortable and excited about being part of the dance community at New Trier as a freshman.”

The event will begin at the school’s Northfield campus (7 Happ Rd) in the F building; Signs will direct participants to the dance studio. Check-in will take place from 3:45-4 p.m., followed by a short dance class and pizza dinner from 4-7 p.m. Finally, the middle school students will join the New Trier dancers on stage for a joint performance of the dance at 7 p.m. in the Northfield campus Cornog Auditorium.
