More Than A Dozen Vehicle Break-Ins In One Night: Winnetka Crime Blotter

The crime blotter covers incidents in Winnetka from Dec. 19-26.

WINNETKA, IL — The following is the most recent crime blotter from the Winnetka Police Department.

Winnetka

BURGLARY

  • Vehicle - Jan. 22 at 8:09 a.m.
    • A victim reported that an unknown person broke into their 2023 Volvo XC90 and their 2016 Volvo XC60 and took items from inside.
  • Vehicle - Jan. 22 at 8:14 a.m
    • A victim discovered that an unknown person entered their unlocked 2021 Ford Explorer that was parked in a carport. The burglar took phone chargers, a lawn chair and a jacket from inside the car.
  • Vehicle - Jan. 22 at 8:34 a.m
    • Sometime between Jan. 21 and 22, an unknown person entered an unlocked 2018 Land Rover Discovery and an unlocked 2025 NX that were parked in a residential driveway. A jar containing about $15 in coins was stolen.
  • Vehicle - Jan. 22 at 8:47 a.m
    • A victim discovered an unknown person entered a 2022 Toyota Camry and a 2021 Mercedes Benz GLE and took a garage door opener and gloves from inside.
  • Vehicle - Jan. 22 at 11:03 a.m
    • Sometime between Jan. 21 and 22, an unknown person entered an unlocked 2018 Volvo XC60 that was parked in a residential driveway. A coat worth about $1,400 was stolen.
  • Vehicle - Jan. 22 at 1:26 p.m
    • Sometime between Jan. 21 and 22, an unknown person entered an unlocked 2025 Volkswagen Atlas that was parked in a residential driveway. A diaper bag was stolen from inside, but it was later found on the street and returned.
  • Residential - Jan. 22 at 8:27 p.m
    • A resident reported to police that someone broke into their home and took about $5,000 worth of jewelry from inside.
  • Vehicle - Jan. 24 at 2:12 p.m
    • Sometime between Jan. 21 and 22, an unknown person entered an unlocked 2011 Mercedes Benz 350 that was parked in the alley by their home. A jacket was stolen from inside.

  • Vehicle - Jan. 22 at 8:09 a.m.
    • A victim discovered that an unknown person entered their unlocked 2023 GMC Yukon that was parked in the alley near their home, but nothing was stolen from inside.
  • Vehicle - Jan. 22 at 8:20 a.m.
    • A victim discovered that an unknown person broke into a 2016 BMW and a 2020 Volkswagen Atlas, but nothing inside was taken.
  • Vehicle - Jan. 22 at 9:34 a.m.
    • A victim discovered that an unknown person entered a 2024 Land Rover Defender and a 2022 Ford Bronco, both unlocked in a residential driveway. Nothing inside was taken.
  • Vehicle - Jan. 22 at 10:21 a.m.
    • A victim discovered that sometime between Jan. 21 and 22an unknown person entered their unlocked 2018 Ford Explorer that was parked in a residential driveway. Nothing inside was taken.

ARRESTS

  • Traffic - Jan. 23 at 3:57 p.m.
    • A 28-year-old Waukegan woman was arrested for driving with a suspended or revoked vehicle registration.
