Mosquito Control Taking Place Thursday On The North Shore

NORTHFIELD, IL — The North Shore Mosquito Abatement District said it plans to conduct targeted adult mosquito control operations in parts of Glencoe, Northbrook, Northfield and Winnetka on Thursday between the hours of 8 p.m. and 2 a.m., weather permitting. Adult mosquito control programs includes barrier applications — temporarily applying insecticide to vegetation for short periods of times in public areas — and truck mounted, ultra-low-volume insecticide applications, according to the district.

This week, Kenilworth followed Northbrook to become the eighth North Shore suburb in which samples of mosquitoes have tested positive for West Nile Virus. The North Shore Mosquito Abatement District offers complete test results from its mosquito samples.
