New Assistant Principal Welcomed At The Skokie School

Michelle Woodring's first day in her new role was Friday.

From Winnetka Public Schools District 36: The Winnetka Public Schools announces that Ms. Michelle Woodring has been named Assistant Principal at The Skokie School for the 2017-2018 school year. Ms. Woodring began in the position on August 18, 2017. As Assistant Principal, Ms. Woodring will apply expertise from past positions to serve as a support to Principal Kelly Tess, helping meet the needs of the school community and fostering continued excellence in teaching and learning at The Skokie School.

“Ms. Woodring will bring a passion for progressive education, commitment to student growth and achievement, and dedication to fostering leadership and innovation to her role at The Skokie School. She has a track record of developing positive collaborative relationships with students, staff, and parents,” says Trisha Kocanda, Superintendent.

Ms. Woodring comes to District 36 after serving as Instructional Coach for Community Consolidated School District 181. Prior to her current position, she was the Media Resource Center Director at Walker School in Clarendon Hills. Ms. Woodring taught fifth grade for seven years at Oak School in Hinsdale and began her career as an elementary school teacher. She holds a B.S. in Education from University of Illinois, and Masters degrees in Arts in Curriculum and Instruction as well as Educational Leadership from Concordia University.
