New College Scholarship Opportunity Announced!

The Winnetka Youth Organization is awarding scholarships in the New Trier Township!

WINNETKA, Feb. 19, 2019 – A new college scholarship for students in the New Trier Township has been announced by the Winnetka Youth Organization. The scholarship is the first of its kind for WYO as the non-profit organization for North Shore teens continues to build momentum in celebrating the organization’s 50th anniversary.

“This scholarship represents a new and lasting way to support our local teens,” said Molly Dolkart, WYO president. “When it comes to scholarship money, students and parents know that every dollar counts. We’ll award two recipients who will be able to use the scholarship towards their first-year college expenses.”

Among other requirements, students must be residents of the New Trier Township, in grade 12, attending a New Trier Township high school and have a weighted GPA of 3.0 or higher. The application is online at http://www.winnetkayo.org/scholarship/. All applications will be thoughtfully reviewed by WYO Board of Directors.

The deadline for submitting an application is Friday, March 15 at 11:59 PM (via email) or by drop-off at the Winnetka Youth Organization location by 5 PM. The WYO is located in the lower level of the Winnetka Community House, 620 Lincoln Ave. in Winnetka.

The two scholarship recipients will be will be announced at WYO’s 50th Anniversary Benefit on April 13, 2019 at 7:00 pm at Sheridan Shore Yacht Club in Wilmette.
