New Trier Chinese Language Students Honored
2 events last month honored New Trier High School students studying Chinese.

From New Trier High School: The month of April was an exciting time for New Trier Chinese language students, who were honored for their accomplishments at two separate events.
On April 21, New Trier students were among more than 200 competing in Midwest Chinese Teachers Alliance’s (MCTA) Tenth Annual Speech Contest at Northside College Prep High School. Aviv Barad, Samantha Chipman and Yetong Li won Gold awards; Ray Li, Luc Lousberg, Chelsea Lu, James McColl, Natalie Ringel and Max Russo won Silver awards; and Michael Chen, Jenny Mathers and Faith Steinman won Bronze awards.

On April 26, New Trier’s Chinese program inducted 31 students into the National Chinese Honor Society. The recipients are: Andrew Banh, Jonathan Bunge, Cameron Chang, Bennett Chou, Liesel Dolce, Vikram Duvvur, Azalea Ely, Josie Ewing, Samantha Fountain, Morgan Hardin, Katherine Higgins, Mia Keegan, Matthew Kirby, Matthew Lee, Carly Lewin, Yetong Li, Lily Nicolaides, Frank Petito, Emma Pigott, Natalie Ringel, Jack Ritters, Max Ronan, Ben Sklansky, Seung-A Sohn, Zoey Spangler, Faith Stineman, Walter Safran, Ezra Wallach, Sawleh Waraich, Benjamin Weiler and Michael Zhao.
