New Trier Hires New Superintendent

District 203 board goes in-house with selection of new school leader.

NORTHFIELD, IL - Dr. Paul Sally - a longtime New Trier faculty member, assistant superintendent and associate superintendent - has been selected as the district's next superintendent.

The New Trier High School District 203 board of education appointed Sally to replace the retiring Superintendent Dr. Linda Yonke beginning on July 1, 2017 during its board meeting Monday night.

"I am truly honored to be named the next Superintendent of New Trier High School District 203,” Sally said. “Leading a school with such a deep tradition of excellence and innovation is both humbling and exciting."

Sally, the current associate superintendent for curriculum and instruction in the district, has been with the school since 1994. He started as a faculty member in the mathematics department and was then elevated to serve as the Northfield Campus Coordinator for the Mathematics Department before rising to the position of assistant superintendent in 2009 and associate superintendent in 2014.

A news release from the district indicates Sally was selected as a result of "an extensive nationwide search and interview process" that included interviews with more than 30 candidates.
