New Trier Named Best School District in Illinois
Recent Niche.com list ranks District 203 among the five best nationally.

New Trier Township High School District 203 was named the best school district in Illinois for 2016 by education website niche.com.
Niche’s overall methodology for the list included accounting 50 percent of the overall grade based on academics, and a mix of nine other categories such as health and safety, parent and student survey results and teacher grades accounting for the other half.
The study included 100 school districts in Illinois. For New Trier, which was ranked fourth nationally, it was nearly straight A’s.

The school earned an “A+” in six different criteria: academics, teachers, administration and policies, extracurriculars, educational outcome, health and safety. And at least an “A-” in nine of them.
“According to state standards, 88% of students in this district are considered proficient in math and/or reading,” according to a niche analysis. “The district has an annual budget of $101,738,000, spending an average of $24,029 per student. There have been 329 reviews written and they have been mostly positive.”

The category “Student Culture and Diversity” only showed as a “C+” however.
