New Trier Renovation Gets Final Approval
Village Council's approval of special use permit means $100.3 million renovation can begin this spring.

After a special use permit was unanimously approved the the Winnetka Village Council on Tuesday, all approvals have been met for New Trier High School to begin its Winnetka campus renovation.
The renovation plan, which calls for the demolition of the 1912 cafeteria, the 1931 tech arts building and the 1950 music building, was approved with more than 60 percent of the vote when a referendum on the measure was presented to voters in the New Trier district last year - the Winnetka Talk reports.
The total renovation will come at a cost of approximately $100.3 million.

“We’re very pleased,” said New Trier Board Member Peter Fischer. “We look forward to starting construction and getting the project underway.”
