PEER Services is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization. PEER Services provides community-based substance use prevention and treatment services to teens, adults and families in Northern Cook County, including Evanston, Maine, New Trier, Niles and Northfield Townships, and the north side of Chicago. PEER Services reduces the harms of substance use, addiction and stigma by engaging youth and adults with innovative prevention programming and by supporting people on their path to recovery through holistic, evidence-based treatment. We provide affirming services to all in need, regardless of their ability to pay. The following obituary is courtesy of Donnellan Family Funeral Services. Karen Mary Dunn, 57 of Chicago, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2015. Karen was born in Chicago and raised in Oak Park and then Northfield, Illinois. Loving daughter of Mary Lou Steinbach, William J. Dunn, and stepdaughter of Janet Dunn; loving sister of Bonnie Dunn Hayes, William J Dunn Jr.(Diane)Dunn, Robert Dunn, Timothy(Sheila) Dunn, Deirdre Dunn(Stephen)Nardi and Patrick Dunn; step brother of Jesse Bleemel; Karen is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and her two cats Devin and Callie. Karen had a tremendous love for animals. She showed hunter jumper horses as a young girl and worked at a veterinary clinic in Chicago for many years. She love to cook and discuss/share her recipes with friends and family. She also had a strong faith in the Lord. She will be dearly missed. A private memorial celebrating her life was held on Saturday, March 7.
