Northfield Obituary: Thomas Charles Kirby, 55

Thomas Charles Kirby, age 55, of Northfield. Husband of Sheila nee Fitzgerald; beloved son of Carolyn nee Clark and the late Robert Kirby; loving brother of Kathleen Nowlin, Robert (Gerri) Kirby, James (Mary) Kirby and Julie (Hugh) Donohue; dear uncle of Kirby (Kevin) Doonan, Margaret (Brett) Williamson, Robert (Vanessa) Nowlin , Matthew (Jennifer) Nowlin, Stephen, Michael, Andrew and Daniel Kirby; great uncle of 7.

“Tom” was raised in Glencoe, IL with his brothers and sisters. He attended Central School in Glencoe, IL, followed by New Trier High School in Winnetka, IL graduating in 1978. He attended college at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas graduating in 1982. He was a member of Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity at TCU. Tom was an avid Chicago sports fan and followed all his teams with great interest. He was a lover of his many dogs who were his faithful companions throughout his lifetime. Dakota, Montana, Madison and Hannah were very special to him. In addition, he had an abiding passion for food, politics and his family, most especially, his dear mother. We will miss his dry wit and loving nature.

Visitation Thursday, January 28, 2016, 11:00 a.m. until time ofFuneral Service 12:00 p.m. Noon at Donnellan Family Funeral Home, 10045 Skokie Blvd. at Old Orchard Rd. Skokie, IL 60077.

Interment is Private at All Saints Cemetery.
