NTHS Girls Soccer Wins Sectional Final
New Trier High School defeated Loyola 3-0 to set up a super-sectional showdown with St. Charles North Tuesday.

NORTHBROOK, IL — New Trier High School Girls Soccer team defeated Loyola Academy to win the sectional championship Friday at Glenbrook North High School.
After a some wet weather slightly delayed kickoff, the Trevians took the lead less than a quarter into the match and managed to treble it in the second half while maintaining a clean sheet.
Whitney Hoban got the first goal for New Trier just before the midway point of the first half. After halftime, despite the best efforts of Ramblers goalkeeper Maggie Avery, the Trevs notched again.

New Trier scored a third goal in the second half to finish with three goals to Loyola's none.
By winning the sectional championship, New Trier is just three wins away from repeating as state champions. The Trevians now have an opportunity to play for a spot in the state semifinals in just four days, as they face St. Charles North on Tuesday in Barlett at 5 p.m.

To reach Thursday's sectional final, first-seeded NTHS defeated Glenbrook South 2-0 last Tuesday, while Loyola (seeded third) defeated Evanston Township High School 2-1.
