Nursing Home Brawl Leads To Domestic Battery Charge: Blotters
Glenview woman charged with Winnetka identity theft; domestic battery in attorney's office on North Shore police blotters from Aug. 20–26

GLENCOE, IL — The following information comes from the Glencoe, Northfield, Wilmette and Winnetka police departments as a record of police activity and incidents reported to the police. Criminal charges represent merely accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Anyone arrested is innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

INCIDENTS
HIT-AND-RUN
A resident reported around 5:15 p.m. Aug. 21 that a motorist struck a 2019 Jaguar at the intersection of Green bay Road and Park Avenue and fled.

SOCIAL SECURITY SCAM
A Skokie Ridge Drive resident was deceived into providing the last four digits of his social security number to a man claiming to be a representative of the Social Security Administration, police were told on the afternoon of Aug. 22. There was no loss at the time of the report.
IDENTITY THEFT
A Maple Hill Road resident reported around 11 a.m. Aug. 27 that someone contacted their bank and used their social security number in an attempt to change the account's contact information. There was no loss at the time of the report.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS
A 55-year-old Chicago man was arrested around 12:30 p.m. Aug. 27 in the 100 block of Park Avenue and charged with driving with a revoked driver's license and driving without a valid registration.

INCIDENTS
ELECTRONIC HARASSMENT
Police were called to a home in the 500 block of Woodland Lane North shortly after 2 a.m. Aug. 19 for a report of someone sending unwanted messages using the Snapchat app. Police reported the sender agreed to stop any further communication.
ANIMAL BITE
On the morning of Aug. 21, police got a call from a resident in the 200 block of Old Farm Road that a dog had bitten the homeowner around 5:45 p.m. the prior evening in the area of Willow and Sunset Ridge roads. Officers were unable to identify the owners of the dogs allegedly involved.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
Officers discovered several overturned garbage bins and damaged mailboxes in the 1800 and 1900 blocks of Old Willow Road.
ARRESTS/CITATIONS
A 19-year-old Chicago man was arrested around 7:30 a.m. Aug. 20 and charged with driving without a valid license following a traffic stop in the area of Willow Road and Lockwood Avenue. He was also issued a citation for running a stop sign.

CAR BURGLARIES
- Someone stole a TV, stereo, two pairs of sunglasses and car keys from an unlocked Ford Explorer in the 1200 block of Maple Avenue between 7 p.m. Aug. 16 and 10 a.m. Aug. 17.
THEFTS
- Someone stole an unattended bag from a patron of Five Guys, 3232 Lake Ave., between 5:10 and 5:25 p.m. Aug. 16.
- An employee at Cocomero Yogurt, 1163 Wilmette Ave., reported that someone stole a purse from the office area of the business between 3:45 and 4 p.m. Aug. 18.
- A resident in the 1100 block of Laramie Avenue reported on Aug. 23 that someone took their iPhone they had left unattended between 3 and 5:45 p.m.
- Someone stole an unlocked orange mountain bike from a bicycle rack at the CTA Purple Line station at 349 Linden Ave. between 10:30 a.m. and 4 pm.. Aug. 23.
HOME BURGLARY
A resident in the 1100 block of Hibbard Road reported that someone broke into their home between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Aug. 19 and stole electronics and other property of an unspecified value.
BURGLARY
A construction worker reported that someone broke into a locked trailer in a rear parking lot in the 3200 block of Lake Avenue and stole about $5,000 worth of tools.
SHOPLIFTING
An employee of the Edens Plaza Walgreens, 3232 Lake Ave., reported around 5:30 p.m. Aug. 25 that two women stole alcohol and over-the-counter drugs from the store and were seen leaving the area in a white SUV with an Indiana license plate.
ARRESTS/CITATIONS
[Name Removed], 54, of Glenview, was arrested shortly before midnight on Aug. 17 at the intersection of Glenview Road and Skokie Boulevard and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after officers who found her asleep behind the wheel of a car in the intersection and determined she was intoxicated. Police reported declined a portable breath test and was taken into custody.
Magali Perez, 26, of the 4800 block of West Grace Street, Chicago, was arrested around 1 p.m. Aug. 20 and charged with retail theft after officers were told she had just stolen a coffee maker from the Walgreens, 3232 Lake Ave.
Rosalind M Channey, 30, of the 1800 block of Lemar Avenue, Evanston, was arrested around 4 a.m. at a nursing home facility in the 400 block of Poplar Drive and charged with domestic battery and criminal damage to property. Officers arrived to find her rolling around the hallway with a 38-year-old woman, throwing punches at one another while staff tried to separate them. Police reported Channey had been staying with a patient and gotten angry about being "disrespected." She attacked the other woman and bit the patient when she intervened and smashed the woman's cell phone on the floor, police said.
Jacqueline Hayes, 28, of the 3600 block of West Grenshaw Street, Chicago, was arrested on Aug. 22 and charged with two counts of domestic battery in connection with an incident around 3:45 p.m. the prior day where she and her child's parent met with a court-appointed attorney at an office for a visitation. During the visit, Hayes became upset with her child and co-parent and battered them before fleeing the scene, police said. Wilmette detectives went to Chicago, found her and placed her under arrest.

HOME BURGLARIES
- A resident in the 800 block of Heather Lane reported around 11:45 a.m. Aug. 18 that someone had gotten into their home and stolen several pieces of jewelry worth more than $1,000.
- A resident in the 200 block of Ridge Road reported that someone got into their home through an unlocked door between 10:30 p.m. Aug. 22 and 7 a.m. Aug. 23, stealing a wallet with cash and cards for a loss of $230.
- A resident in the 700 block of Mt. Pleasant Street reported that someone got into their unlocked home and stole a wallet with cash and cards for a $830 loss between 8 p.m. Aug. 22 and 9 a.m. Aug. 23.
- A resident in the 300 block of Forest Street reported that someone got into their home between 11 p.m. Aug. 22 and 10:30 a.m. Aug. 23, stealing a purse with cash and cards from inside for a loss of $550.
IDENTITY THEFT
A representative of a business in the 800 block of Oak Street reported on the morning of Aug. 19 that someone had used their identity to open a pair of accounts with Verizon Wireless and buy multiple iPhones without permission for a loss of more than $3,100.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
A resident in the 600 block of Hibbard Road reported someone did $2,500 in damage to an aluminum address sign at the end of their driveway between 3:30 p.m. Aug. 23 and 4 p.m. Aug. 24.
ARRESTS/CITATIONS
Anna Caroline James, 32, of the 700 block of Cobblestone Circle, Glenview, was arrested at 10:45 a.m. Aug. 22 at the Winnetka Police Department and charged with two counts of identity theft and one count of theft in connection with an Aug. 17 incident at a restaurant in the 500 block of Chestnut Street.
A 23-year-old Glencoe man was arrested around 8:45 p.m. in the 1000 block of Sheridan Road and charged with speeding between 26 and 34 miles above the speed limit.
