Robert H. Goldberg of Northfield recently passed away at the age of 102. He was the beloved husband of the late Irene “Babe” Goldberg; loving father of Jean (Robert) Young and Richard (Kim) Goldberg; the cherished Bappa of Jennifer (Taylor) Cimala, Jeffrey Young, Andrew (Ashley) Goldberg and Michael Goldberg, and the proud great- grandfather of Eloise Cimala.

Born in and raised in Chicago in 1913, after serving in the U.S Army in World War II, Bob and his wife moved to Winnetka in 1948 where they raised their children. They lived in Winnetka for 52 years until moving to a condo in Northfield in 2000 where Bob continued to live until his death. Bob and his late wife were very active in the Winnetka and Northfield communities. They were founding members of Temple Jeremiah in Northfield where Bob served as a former president. Bob was a regular golfer at the Winnetka Golf Club well into his 80’s, bowled in a league at the Winnetka Community House, and he served as a volunteer at the North Shore Senior Center until he turned 100!

Bob was a lifelong Cubs fan, an avid reader, a world traveler along with his wife, and active in many philanthropic, civic and cultural organizations on the North Shore.
