Oscar Mayer Has a New Home, It's Spelled C-H-I-C-A-G-O

Kraft Heinz announces plans to move headquarters of the meats company from Madison, Wisconsin to the Aon Center.

Kraft Heinz made the announcement Wednesday that they would be moving the U.S. meats business - a move that will add 250 jobs to the Aon Center, according to the Chicago Tribune and other reports.

The move will result in the loss of about 2,600 manufacturing jobs at Oscar Mayer’s current location in Madison, however. Production facilities at seven Kraft Heinz production facilities will also be consolidated.

The massive consolidation plan “is a critical step in our plan to eliminate excess capacity and reduce operational redundancies for the new combined company,” Kraft Heinz spokesman Michael Mullen said in a statement.

Earlier this year, Kraft Heinz announced plans to consolidate their operations in the Midwest from a larger building in Northfield to their spot at the Aon Center beginning in 2016.
