Property Tax Town Hall Meeting at New Trier Township

New Trier Township Assessor Jan Churchwell and Deputy Assessor Leonard Shifflett will host an informational seminar January 25, 2017 at 7:30

New Trier Township Assessor Jan Churchwell and Deputy Assessor Leonard Shifflett will host an informational seminar and town hall meeting for residents who have experienced difficulty obtaining property assessment information from the Cook County Clerk’s office.

The meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. at the Township Offices, 739 Elm Street, Winnetka, IL. All Township residents are cordially invited to attend. If you will be unable to attend, but would like to have your issue(s) on the meeting discussion list, please call Deputy Assessor Len Shifflett at (847) 446-8200 or e-mail either jchurchwell@newtriertownship.com or lshifflett@newtriertownship.com .

Assessor Jan Churchwell recently stated, “I strongly believe that the function of my office is not only to help with your property tax assessment issues, but to try to improve the assessment process itself. If you have had difficulties getting information from the Cook County Assessor (Mr. Joseph Berrios’ office), or complications getting inaccuracies in the assessment information for your property corrected, then this meeting is for you. We would like to hear from you about specific situations that you have faced in the assessment process in the hopes that we can work with the Cook County Assessor’s staff to have these situations improved or, even better, resolved to your satisfaction.”
