Residents Asked for Input on District 36 Enrollment Balancing Project

Survey will be open to the public for another week as committee is formed to address "imbalanced" attendance.

WINNETKA, IL - Residents of Winnetka School District 36 can share input on how the district should address "imbalanced attendance patterns" seen in recent years at three of the schools through an online survey open to the public until Sunday, Sept. 18.

The results of the survey will be taken into account by an advisory committee comprised of staff, parents and community members on communicating possible long-term solutions to the school board, according to a district news release.

Possible solutions could be waiting for enrollment to self-correct, reconfiguring grades housed at school buildings, a school boundary shift and school construction.

The creation of the committee and the survey are part of the district's "Enrollment Balancing Project," which began earlier this year.

The board is expected to take some action on the topic by the spring of 2017.
