Road Rage Shooting Reported On Edens Expressway
State police are investigating a shooting on I-94 at Willow Road Saturday morning.

NORTHFIELD, IL — State police are investigating a reported shooting reported early Saturday morning on the Edens Expressway in north suburban Northfield. Police were called to intersection of Willow and Waukegan roads around 12:25 a.m. after a motorist called police to report a shooting on the northbound lanes of I-94 just south of Willow Road. Police were told the gunfire stemmed from a road rage incident, according to Illinois State Police.
A responding officer noticed a bullet hole in the passenger side door of the man who called police, according to Northfield police. The man explained that a blue Nissan Altima with tinted windows quickly approached his vehicle flashing its lights, police said. The man changed lanes, but the Nissan slowed down to get next to him.
Someone in the Nissan then fired a gunshot from the open window on the front driver's side, before exiting the Edens on the westbound Willow Road exit. The vehicle was occupied by four Hispanic men or boys, according to a state police news release. (Get Patch real-time email alerts for the latest news for Northfield, Winnetka — or your community.
