School Memo Released by Winnetka Suggests Pattern of Abuse by Former Teacher

Unsigned page from 1995 includes phrase, "Could have 100 children abused"

Among the hundreds of pages of personal memos released by Winnetka School District 36 in relation the the case of former Hubbard Woods School teacher Bill Bricker is an unsigned page that appears to include the phrase “Could have 100 children abused.”

Bricker, a former teacher and Boy Scout Troop leader, faces charges of fondling three children in Wyoming over a three decade span. He is now in Michigan fighting extradition to Wyoming, the Chicago Tribune reports.

The page, dated February 23, 1995, also appears to include phrases such as “No obligation to inform” and “letting sleeping dogs lie.”

“We believe it is our responsibility to be forthcoming with the community, and we want potential victims to know how seriously this School Board takes these issues,” was the statement from District 36 regarding the release of the records.
