The School of Saints Faith, Hope & Charity Nationally Recognized as 2014 Blue Ribbon School
One of 50 private schools in the U.S. awarded the distinction

U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan announced that the School of Saints Faith, Hope & Charity in Winnetka, Illinois has been awarded the distinction of National Blue Ribbon School for 2014. FHC is one of only fifty private schools selected for this coveted honor.
Faith Hope & Charity Principal Kathleen Carden commented upon hearing the news, “I am so happy that our school community is being recognized for its academic excellence with this coveted award. I would be remiss to say that this award alone defines our exemplary school. A distinguishing quality, one that cannot be measured by any national contest, is how we excel at partnering with parents to root children firmly in their Catholic faith while educating the hearts, minds and souls of this future generation. “
FHC will be represented by Mrs. Carden and a small delegation of veteran teachers, Madame Ann Syvertsen, Mrs. Betty Ann Shanley, and Mrs. Mary Nimrod at a formal recognition ceremony acknowledging the School’s achievement in Washington, D.C. November 10-11.

The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program honors public and private elementary, middle, and high schools where students either achieve very high learning standards or are making notable improvements in closing the achievement gap. The award affirms the hard work of students, educators, families and communities in creating safe and welcoming schools where students master challenging content.
“These great schools are fulfilling the promise of American education—that all students, no matter their name or zip code, can flourish when schools provide safe, creative, and challenging learning environments,” Secretary Duncan said. “National Blue Ribbon Schools are models of consistent excellence and a resource for other schools and districts. We celebrate them for their tireless effort and boundless creativity in reaching and teaching every student.”
