Susan B. Resko, MBA Appointed President of The Josselyn Center
The Josselyn Center, a community mental health center in Northfield, announces Susan B. Resko, as next President, effective August 31st.

The Josselyn Center Board of Directors is excited to announce the appointment of Susan B. Resko, MBA as the President of The Josselyn Center. She will be replacing Gary D. Smith who is retiring after 13 years of service. “I speak for the entire Board when I say that although we are sad to see Gary go, we are confident that with Susan at the helm, The Josselyn Center will continue to provide the most comprehensive community mental health services and programs.” Ila Rothschild, Chair of the Board continues, “Susan comes to The Josselyn Center with compassion, enthusiasm and a strong commitment to our mission and vision.”
Susan has over 25 years of change management, executive administration, marketing, and relationship management experience in the banking and nonprofit sectors. She served as Vice President/Senior Relationship Manager at Harris Trust and Savings Bank (BMO/Harris) before transitioning into a career in nonprofit with The Balanced Mind Foundation, a national parent network for children with severe mental health challenges. First serving as a consultant, Susan was quickly recruited into the role of Development Director and grew The Balanced Mind Foundation’s budget nearly 300%. Within five years she became the organization’s President, where she led the organization through a rebranding and re-organization that expanded the Foundation’s focus to include child, adolescent and young adult depression, bipolar disorder and related challenges. In 2013, Susan initiated and led the Foundation’s merger with the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance. Upon the transition, Susan became Vice President of Institutional Advancement, where she led a team responsible for securing $3 million in revenue. Most recently, Susan served as President for LIFT-Chicago, a social service agency working to help community members achieve their employment and housing goals in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood.

Since 1951, The Josselyn Center has been a pioneer in providing high-quality, affordable and comprehensive outpatient mental health services and programs for children, teens, adults and families from over 60 communities in Northern Illinois. Susan will step into her role as President of The Josselyn Center on Monday, August 31st.
