Tests Show No Lead in Water at Catholic Schools in Winnetka

The water is safe at The School of Saints Faith, Hope & Charity and Sacred Heart School in Winnetka.

WINNETKA, IL - Both catholic schools in Winnetka have water that has been deemed safe by the Archdiocese of Chicago.

A recent test of lead levels at all 180 of the Archdiocese of Chicago’s schools showed levels at both The School of Saints Faith, Hope & Charity and Sacred Heart School in Winnetka are below the action level of 15 ppb determined by the Environmental Protection Agency.

“No action” will be required at either school, according to the Archdiocese.

In all, 56 Chicago-area Catholic elementary and high schools have lead levels considered unsafe by federal regulations.

Of those schools, 18 were found to have high levels are located within the city of Chicago while the remaining were located in the suburbs of Lake and Cook counties.
