Theft At The Medicine Cabinet: Winnetka, Glencoe Crime Blotters

WINNETKA, IL — The following is the most recent crime blotter from the Winnetka Police Department and the Glencoe Public Safety Department.

Winnetka

FORGERY

• Medication - July 20 at 10:38 a.m.
  • A victim discovered that somebody paid for goods using a counterfeit $100 bill.

BURGLARY

• Vehicle - July 21 at 5:19 a.m.
  • A resident discovered that an unknown person got into two of their cars that were parked in their driveway in the 300 block of Poplar Street. The amount of loss was $2, police said.
• Vehicle - July 21 at 9:20 a.m.
  • A resident discovered that an unknown person got into their unlocked 2007 Lexus LS that was parked in their driveway in the 500 block of Willow Road. Cash and a check worth $905 were stolen, police said.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS

• Vehicle - July 21 at 5:44 a.m.
  • A resident discovered that an unknown person got into two of their unlocked cars, but nothing was reported stolen.
• Vehicle - July 21 at 9:49 a.m.
  • A resident discovered that an unknown person got into their unlocked 2020 Kia Telluride, but nothing was reported stolen.

ARRESTS

• Drugs - July 23 at 8:29 p.m.
  • A 57-year-old Evanston man was arrested for possession of a controlled substance after a welfare check.
• Traffic - July 25 at 3:41 p.m.
  • A 37-year-old Winnetka man was arrested for speeding 26-34 mph over the posted speed limit.
• Traffic - July 26 at 2:40 a.m.
  • A 39-year-old Round Lake Beach man was arrested for driving with a suspended license. He was also cited for improper lane usage.
• Traffic - July 26 at 8:49 p.m.
  • Winnetka police assisted in carrying out an in-state warrant for the arrest of a 34-year-old Wilmette man.

Glencoe

ARRESTS

• DUI - July 25
  • A 31-year-old Waukegan woman was arrested following a traffic stop. According to the police, the driver was cited for making an improper left turn, speeding 21-25 mph over the speed limit, not having car insurance or a valid driver's license and driving under the influence.
• Traffic - July 25
  • A 55-year-old Skokie woman was arrested following a traffic stop. According to the police, the driver was cited for having an obstructed windshield, failure to display her vehicle's registration on plates, driving a car with a suspended registration and not having a valid driver's license.
