Thieves Snatch Tires From Jeep Parked in Driveway: Cops

Police in Northfield made two arrests for excessive speeding recently.

The following information is from the Northfield Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

TIRES STOLEN FROM JEEP

On November 9, a resident on Londmeadow Road reported that between 3 p.m. on November 8 and 1 p.m. on November 9, four tires were stolen from a Jeep in the driveway. There was no forced entry and the resident did not recall if the car doors had been locked. Value unknown.

TEEN CHARGED WITH EXCESSIVE SPEEDING

On November 6 at 8:04 a.m. on East Frontage at Harding, police were performing routine traffic enforcement when a vehicle was observed travelling 65 mph in a 30 mph zone. Police arrested a 17-year-old Winnetka resident for Excessive Speeding (65/30).

IMPROPER LANE USAGE AND EXCESSIVE SPEEDING

On November 4 at 6:22 p.m. at Happ and Winnetka, an officer observed an SUV travelling at a high rate of speed on Happ Road in the 300-100 block. The vehicle was travelling 45 mph in a 30 mph zone. As the officer went to stop the vehicle, the vehicle disobeyed the stop sign at Happ/Winnetka turned onto West Frontage Road, accelerating to 64 mph in a 30 mph zone. The driver, Sara D. Darbar, 22, Norridge was arrested for Disobeying a Stop Sign, Improper Lane Usage and Excessive Speeding (64/30).
