WINNETKA, IL — The following information comes from the Winnetka Police Department as a record of police activity. More than $5,000 was stolen in three unauthorized transfers from the insurance policy of a Winnetka resident between June 28 and July 6. It was reported to police on July 11 at 9:44 a.m.

A Winnetka resident reported that sometime on July 3, someone used their personal information to try to open credit cards accounts with PayPal and Chase. There was no immediate reported loss, and the incident was reported to police on July 11 at 2:14 p.m.
AGGRAVATED IDENTITY THEFT
Someone charged more than $5,000 to a Verizon account they had been able to open using the personal information of a Winnetka resident between Oct. 2 of last year and April 26. It was reported to police on July 11 at 7:28 p.m.
IDENTITY THEFT
Someone made $2,205.65 worth of unauthorized purcahses using the Bloomingdale account of a Winnetka resident between 7:22 p.m. and 8:55 p.m. on July 12. It was reported to police that night at 9:29 p.m.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS TO VEHICLE
A resident reported someone had rummaged through their unlocked vehicle on the 1200 block of Scott Avenue sometime between 10:30 p.m. on July 13 and 4:16 a.m. on July 14. There was no immediate reported loss.
BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE
Someone stole a wallet containing cash, an ID and a BP gas card — for a combined loss of $50 — from an unlocked vehicle in the 900 block of Gordon Terrace between 9:30 p.m. on July 13 and 8:15 a.m. on July 14.
IDENTITY THEFT
Someone fraudulently transferred more than $5,000 from the checking account of a Winnetka resident between June 16 and July 13 using their personal information. It was reported to poliice July 14 at 1:13 p.m.
THEFT
Sometime between May 26 and May 30, someone stole a Macbook laptop, an iPad and two chargers from a classroom at Hubbard Woods Elementary School. It was reported to police on July 15 at 3:02 p.m. The amount of loss was not immediately known.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS TO VEHICLE
Police discovered that between 9 p.m. on July 16 and 12:47 a.m. on July 17, someone had entered a vehicle parked in a driveway in the 1000 block of Westmoor Road. There was no immediate reported loss.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS TO VEHICLE
Someone entered two unlocked vehicles on the 1000 block of Chatfield Road between 9 p.m. on July 16 and 5:10 a.m. on July 17 and rummaged through their contents, but there was no reported loss. It was reported to police on July 17 at 5:33 a.m.
ARRESTS
SUSPENDED LICENSE
A 38-year-old Northfield woman was arrested July 13 at 9:53 a.m. and charged with driving without a valid license in the 500 block of Green Bay Road. She was also cited for not having insurance and improper use of a cell phone.
SUSPENDED LICENSE
A 43-year-old Schaumburg man was arrested on July 13 at 2:43 p.m. in the 200 block of Essex Road and charged with driving without a valid license subsequent to an investigation into a traffic crash in which he was involved.
SPEEDING
A 16-year-old Lincolnwood boy was arrested and accused of speeding on July 15 at 5:33 p.m. in the 1000 block of Sheridan Road. He was also cited for illegal screeching of tires and improper lane usage.
