Township Before/After School Childcare Scholarship Program Begins

New Trier Township is accepting applications for their Before/After school childcare scholarship program now through Aug. 9

Winnetka, IL- New Trier Township is accepting applications for their Before/After school childcare scholarship program now through Aug. 9 . Parents and guardians that wish to apply for Before/After School financial relief are encouraged to complete an application that can be found on the Township’s website Before/After School Care Application

To be considered, parents must be employed or in school on a full or part-time basis and meet income eligibility guidelines. Please note that New Trier Township does not enroll the child (ren) in programs. Parents or guardians must enroll the pupil in a Before/After school program of choice prior to the submission of an application for a scholarship. If proof of enrollment is not supplied, the applicant will be asked to complete the Before/After school enrollment and secure documentation before a scholarship application can be considered.


Documentation required includes:
• Copies of a 2017 or 2018 income tax return,
• Two paycheck stubs for each parent within the last 30 days
• Proof of residency (current lease, letter signed by property owner or utility bill)
• Verification of child’s enrollment in a program
• Current fee sheet from provider and provider license number


Providers are paid directly by New Trier Township. Parents and/or guardians are responsible for any program balances not covered by the scholarship. The before/after school scholarship application can be found on our website. Simply visit Resident Services, then, Financial Assistance and on to Child Care, where a downloadable PDF form is available.

Licensed providers are defined as:
• Accredited Kindergarten or Preschool Programs
• School or Park District Affiliated Programs
• State Licensed Day Care Providers


Eligibility requirements include:
• Lawful custody of a child age 13 (entering 8th grade) or under receiving care in a licensed facility
• Residency of New Trier Township
• Full or part-time employment, enrollment in job training and/or attendance at a school program
