Trevian Boys Roundup: Cross-Country Reloads for State Title Run
Boys golf is getting into the swing of things while football adjusts to a new quarterback.

Football: New Trier’s Jack Nykaza may turn out to be a fine high school quarterback by the end of the season, but right now he’s going through an adjustment period.
Nykaza was 7-for-17 in passing and had two interceptions in New Trier’s 22-17 loss to Schaumburg at home on Friday night.
Even with the position switch from running back, Nykaza hasn’t forgotten that he can use his legs to his advantage. The senior quarterback had two rushing touchdowns, including an 8-yard run that put the Trevians up 17-16 early in the fourth quarter.

Cross-Country: They say there is a difference between rebuilding and reloading and New Trier’s cross-country team has certainly become accustomed to the latter option. The Trevians lost Tommy King from last year’s team that finished in seventh place at the state meet, but have several runners returning this season. Senior Leland Later had an incredible track season, placing fourth in the state in the 1,600-meter run, and is looking to back that up with a strong cross-country season in his senior year.
