Village Carpets to Close for Good
Liquidation sale has already begun at popular carpet outlet in Winnetka's Hubbard Woods District.

WINNETKA, IL - Village Carpets, a longtime business in Winnetka’s Hubbard Woods SHopping District, is closing its doors after more than a half-century as a premier outlet for carpets and rugs on the North Shore.
The store began a public liquidation sale with all of its items on sale this week, according to a news release.
The store has operated a 4,500 square-foot showroom at 924 Green Bay Road for more than 30 years.

"We have enjoyed a tremendous relationship with the people of Winnetka and the surrounding communities for over 40 years,” said Rip Suster, the longtime store owner. “We have now made the strategic decision to close our showroom and sell out our entire and complete stock.”
Sue Suster, Rip’s wife, began the business during the 1960s and expanded into the showroom space after her designs were found to be in great demand.
