Village Removes Swastika Carved Into Sidewalk Across From New Trier High School
Staff contacted the village after a report of a hateful symbol across from the New Trier High School campus on Woodland Avenue.
WINNETKA, IL — New Trier High School officials reported that a swastika was etched in cement on a sidewalk across from New Trier High School's Winnetka Campus last week.
According to District 203 Chief Communications Officer Niki Dizon, the hate symbol on Woodland Avenue was reported on Oct. 22.
The marking was on a Village of Winnetka sidewalk across the street from the high school campus. According to Dizon, the swastika seemed to have been there for a "significant amount of time."
