Vivian Maier: The Life of the "Nanny Photographer" (NSSC Class)

Join Richard Cahan (former Sun-Times picture editor)  in a look at Vivian Maier, the "nanny photographer" who became a worldwide sensation after her photography was discovered in 2009. Maier worked as a nanny much of her life on Chicago's North Shore, and chronicled the times in her photographs. Her photo negatives were auctioned off at a storage locker sale in 2007. The work went viral following her death in 2009, and she is now recognized as one of the great photographers of the twentieth century. The talk will trace her life story and also show her photographs, in which you will see breathtaking images of everyday life in urban America.
