Walter E. Smithe Advertising Campaign Honors Chicagoland WWII Veterans

Advertisement featuring Honor Flight Chicago airs through Memorial Day Weekend

Walter E. Smithe has launched their Memorial Day advertising campaign featuring Honor Flight Chicago as a touching tribute to Chicagoland veterans who served in World War II, and to help spread the word about this once-in-a-lifetime experience for these veterans. Honor Flight Chicago is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to recognizing Chicagoland’s most senior heroes by providing all-expense-paid trips to Washington, D.C., to visit the World War II Memorial and participate in a day of honor, remembrance and celebration of their service. To further reach these humble heroes, who average approximately 90 years old, Honor Flight Chicago reached out to Walter E. Smithe for their help through their famous television advertisements, since most veterans aren’t online but are watching local TV.

Walter E. Smithe’s commercial series features touching moments and personal experiences that the Smithe brothers had with the World War II veterans during their own Honor Flight experience will run in all local Chicago area markets. The television and radio advertisements will highlight the retailer’s Memorial Day furniture sale and encourage veterans and their family members to ‘sign up a veteran’ for Honor Flight Chicago in a complementary in-store activation in Walter E. Smithe’s 11 Chicagoland locations.
