Winnetka Schools Lower 2015 Tax Levy

WINNETKA, IL - The Winnetka Public Schools District 36 board has lowered its final 2015 tax levy to 1.87 percent, from 5.95 percent.

“The school board is dedicated to collecting only what is needed and will discuss a March 2016 Abatement option to further reduce 2015 property taxes,” according to a school news release. “Over the next three months, the board will evaluate any potential negative impacts of the state’s actions and other expenditure needs of the District.”

The board unanimously approved lowering the property tax portion request following “a great deal of discussion and contemplation.”
