Winnetka Schools Want Public Engagement For Master Facility Plan

D-36 community members are invited to "Global Perspectives" sessions Tuesday.

WINNETKA-GLENCOE, IL - From the Winnetka Public Schools District 36: The Winnetka Public Schools invites all community members to attend “Global Perspectives,” District-wide engagement sessions to discuss next steps for Future Ready D36, the District’s Educational Master Facility Plan. “Global Perspectives,” will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at 9:15 a.m. through 10:45 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. through 8:30 p.m. in The Skokie School Community Room, 501 Glendale Avenue. The same interactive presentation will be shared during each session.

“Future Ready D36 is a collaborative community process intended to address our enrollment imbalance and aging facilities, while ensuring our educational environments meet the needs of current and future students. Thank you to all of the community members and staff who attended recent Future Ready D36 presentations at our school buildings. We look forward to continue discussing the future of The Winnetka Public Schools at these upcoming ‘Global Perspectives’ sessions. ‘Global Perspectives’ is an opportunity for our community to ask questions about Future Ready D36, study the latest best practices on preparing students for rapidly changing world, share innovative ideas for our schools in light of this research, and explore possible solutions to the unique issues we face as a District,” says Dr. Trisha Kocanda, Superintendent of Schools. “I encourage all community members to attend. Your voice is important in shaping the future of District 36.”

District 36 is conducting Future Ready D36, its first Educational Master Facility Plan in 20 years. Future Ready D36 is a holistic process that will measure, validate, quantify and qualify opportunities to align the District’s school facilities, enrollment, and vision for teaching and learning to meet the needs of current and future students in a fiscally responsible manner. The District invites Winnetka community members to engage in the Future Ready D36 process.
