Woman Spat In Cop's Face: Winnetka Police

The 44-year-old Chicago woman faces a felony charge of aggravated battery to an officer.

WINNETKA, IL — A Chicago woman reportedly screamed and threatened people in a Winnetka park before spitting in the face of one of the officers who was called to respond, police said.

Shortly after 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 9, Winnetka police were called to the area of Elder Park for a report that of a woman screaming and threatening patrons, according to Interim Chief Marc Hornstein. He said the woman spat in the face of one of the cops who had responded as he was interacting with her.

Hyun H. Shin, 44, of the 4600 block of North Lowell Avenue in Chicago, was arrested at the scene, according to police. She has been charged with aggravated battery to a police officer, a class 2 felony carrying a sentence of up to seven years in prison.

Shin was originally held on $20,000 bond, but was released from custody on bail Tuesday, according to a spokesperson for the Cook County Sheriff's office.
