Writers Theatre Announces 4 Live Plays
The Glencoe theater will host four live plays at Tudor Court. Audiences will need to be masked, vaccinated, or recently negative.

GLENCOE, IL — Glencoe’s Writers Theatre announced that for its 30th anniversary season, it is producing four live plays, including one world premiere. The plays will be performed in both the Nichols Theatre mainstage and the smaller Gillian Theatre.
All audience members will be required to wear masks in the theater, and produce proof of either a COVID-19 vaccination or a negative test from the past 72 hours.

“Dishwasher Dreams” (Dec. 9 to Jan. 22): Written and performed by Alaudin Ullah, directed by Chay Yew. Performed in association with Hartford Stage out of Connecticut. A standup comedian and first-generation immigrant from Bangladesh must leave his career in Los Angeles when a family crisis forces him back to New York.
“Wife of a Salesman” (March 3 to April 3): Written by Eleanor Burgess and produced with the Milwaukee Repertory Theater. World premiere. The wife of “Death of a Salesman” protagonist Willy Loman goes to Boston to confront her husband’s mistress. Hilarity ensues.

“Athena” (May 5 to July 17): Written by Gracie Gardner, directed by Jessica Frisch. Mary Wallace and Athena are 17-year-old fencers with different personalities and backgrounds training for Nationals. Follow their journey from “competitors to confidantes.”
“Pearl’s Rollin’ with the Blues” (June 23 to July 24): Written by Felicia P. Fields and Ron OJ Parson. Directed by Ron OJ Parson. Main character Pearl is aBlues singer who makes it her mission in life to sing the Blues and teach everyone their history.
