Business Spotlight: Bobak's Signature Events and Conference Center

In the midst of the busy wedding season, Catering Manager Liz Frohling found some time to talk to us about the elegant conference center. Whether it's a wedding, corporate event or private party, Bobak's attentive and detail-oriented staff is ready for the creative challenge.
Patch: How is Bobak's different from other venues?
Frohling: We look at each event as though it is our only event. We really take the time to personalize the event and to make sure that the clients' personalities come through from beginning to end. I have been in the business for the last 17 years, and it is the client that makes our day different each time because of what they bring to the event.

Frohling: From the very first meeting, we explain that we understand what they are going through - starting with the tough decision of where to book. We don’t let them jump in to it, and we make sure that they truly feel they are making the best decision for them. We are there to answer any question they may have throughout the planning process. We invite them to a bridal tasting that is literally just like a reception, so they can get a feel for how their event will go. We help them select their menu, design the cake and linens, help with the centerpieces and help create their “theme,” whether it is a logo, color or look of the reception. We create their floor plan based on their needs and run through the ceremony. We are there in the morning starting to decorate, design their room and greet them when they walk in the door, making sure all of their needs are met to expediting the dinner. Once we know they are fully taken care of, then we get them to the dance floor for the party to really begin.
Patch: In your opinion, what's the best dish the chef prepares?
Frohling: I am not sure if I personally have a favorite dish from Chef since it is all pretty amazing. But I would probably say his Stuffed Chicken with Boursin Cheese, Mushrooms and Spinach with this amazing Mild Chipotle Sauce. The Chef, thankfully, allows us to help create signature dishes based on the clients tastes. That is pretty rare amongst Chef’s.
Patch: What are some of the most interesting foods he has made to accommodate guests?

Frohling: Our Chef has pretty much mastered all types of cuisines. We had an African- and Rainforest-themed event, and he created a menu from hors d’oeuvre to dessert that was amazing. That's pretty impressive to do for 550 guests and it not be his specialty! He is a pretty talented person, that is for sure!
