District 99 Board Member to Seek Illinois Rep. Seat

Debbie Boyle has announced she will seek the Republican nomination for the 81st District seat in the Illinois House of Representatives.

A Board of Education member will seek the Republican nomination for an Illinois House of Representatives seat, according to the Downers Grove Reporter.

Debbie Boyle will seek the nomination for Illinois' 81st District, which includes much of Downers Grove and parts of Woodridge, Darien, Lisle, Naperville and Westmont.

Boyle's term for the District 99 board won't be up until spring 2013. If she wins the Illinois house seat, she would begin to serve in Jan. 2013.

Boyle told the Reporter she could handle the overlap, and her duties as a school board member would come before those as a state representative.

The 81st District is newly created and constitutes half of previous 47th District. Patricia Bellock, Illinois rep for the 47th District, decided not to voce to the 81st, leaving it open. Boyle said she saw the opportunity and took it.

“I thought it would be a great opportunity for me especially since I’m not stepping on any incumbents’ toes,” she told the Reporter.
