Final Steel Beam Placed on New Advocate Good Samaritan Bed Tower

The placement of the final beam was celebrated July 30.

The final steel beam of the new bed tower at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove was placed July 30 during a “topping off” celebration.

Hundreds signed the beam, which also carried a tree and an American flag as it was hoisted into place.

The 110,000 square-foot bed tower addition will house 96 private rooms, according to the hospital. After the addition is finished in 2017, the hospital’s semi-private rooms will be converted to private rooms.
