Gina Grady Recognized for 25 Years with the Village

Gina Grady is the deputy chief of support services for the Woodridge Police Department.

Woodridge Deputy Police Chief Gina Grady was recognized Thursday for 25 years with the village at Thursday night’s meeting.

Grady is the deputy chief of support services for the .

Chief Steve Herron introduced Grady to the and those in the audience. Grady started with the department on July 26, 1986.

She oversees the detective, records and special projects units, as well as the . Herron said she also has been the supervisor of communication during the department’s transition to DU-COMM for police dispatch services.

Grady has held several positions in the department. She was an undercover agent for the DuPage Metropolitan Enforcement Group. She was also a juvenile officer and supervised the department’s bike patrol unit, transforming the unit from ad hoc to a more formalized process. Grady was also a detective sergeant, taking care of the department’s police officers.

Letters of commendation for Grady include an award of valor from the and the International Archives Association for a shooting she was involved with while an undercover agent.

She also received an award from as a drug enforcement officer.

Herron described Grady as a “very dependable person, a very good communicator, very detail-oriented, a good project manager and a people person.

Grady’s husband and two daughters were present for the recognition.
