Man Told Woodridge Police He Was Law Enforcement
Police said the man told him he was a member of law enforcement who could assist in finding a reported runaway.

WOODRIDGE, IL — A man was charged with impersonating a peace officer after he told Woodridge police officers he was a member of law enforcement. The incident took place Sunday shortly at the 2200 block of 64th Street.
Shortly after 8 a.m., Woodridge Police Department responded to a report of a runaway patient at Interventions in Woodridge. When police arrived at the scene, an Interventions employee Richard Carnaggio, 57, of the 100 block of North Illinois Avenue in Villa Park, identified himself as a member of law enforcement, police said. He then volunteered to assist with the runaway investigation. Police took Carnaggio into custody and charged him with impersonating a peace officer.
Woodridge Police said the incident is still under investigation.
