Mayor Murphy to Give State of the Village Address Thursday
See the list of accomplishments the village compiled for its departments in 2011.

Mayor William F. Murphy will highlight the successes of 2011 during his 2012 State of the Village address Thursday.
The State of the Village will start at 8 a.m. at Bobak's Signature Events and is hosted by the Woodridge Area Chamber of Commerce.
Last year's address include a highlight reel of the 2010 and some announcements for the future -- including the and the names of businesses opening in Woodridge.

At the village board's final meeting of the year, the board heard the proclamation of accomplishments for each of the village's departments: administration, community development, finance, police and public works.

- Attracting new businesses to Woodridge, including Edward Don, Navistar, MicroSun Technologies and Elevance.
- Updates to the village website, including the government transparency and the economic development tabs
- Adding village board agendas, minutes and video of board meetings to the website
- The Woodridge Police Department consolidated its dispatch services to DU-COMM
- Taking steps to provide more senior housing
- Providing security for the visit of the Chinese president
- 75th Street/Village Greens drainage improvement, Mitchell Drive water main replacement and Woodridge Drive resurfacing
