Land Cleared Before Village Board Approves Project
The fields at Woodward Avenue and I-55 have been cleared for a warehouse/office facility. The project will be approved or denied by the village board Thursday. The developer is starting work at its own risk, village officials said.
Construction has begun near Woodward Avenue and I-55 on a 362,500-square-foot office and warehouse facility.

The project hasn't been approved by the yet.
On Oct. 3, the Plan Commission approved the construction of the office/warehouse facility and the future construction of a 60-acre business park. The office/warehouse facility will serve Edward Don & Company, a foodservice equipment distributor.

The project now goes to the village board at a “specially called” village board meeting on Thursday.
But the developers have gone ahead with construction at their own risk, according to Village Administrator Kathleen Rush.
Construction activity before the village vote has further unnerved nearby residents who said they felt blindsighted by the village’s actions and left out of a process in which a warehouse is being “dropped into (their) neighborhood.”
