As part of Woodridge's annual Community Needs Survey, residents ranked the village's biggest advantages and disadvantages.
Woodridge's top five advantages since 1998 have consistently included location, friendliness of residents, residential neighborhoods, schools and housing affordability (ranked in that order for 2011), according to the survey.

Woodridge's top five disadvantages have not been so consistent. For 2011, residents named lack of public transportation, crime/drug abuse, lack of employment, housing conditions and distance to employer, ranked in that order.
Lack of public transportation has been named the biggest disadvantage to living in Woodridge since 2000.

The conducts the Community Needs Survey every year and distributed 1,200 surveys to residents this year-- 1,000 to those in single-family homes and 200 in multi-family homes.
Of the 1,200, 374 surveys were returned, a response rate that was 2.2 percentage points higher than last year.
