As he plans to depart from police service in the Village of Woodridge after less than a year and a half as police chief, Ken Boehm is reflecting back on his 25 years of service with the Woodridge Police Department that go back to 1988, The Bugle reports.
In an interview, Boehm talks about how the Village has changed since the late 80's into what he now leaves as he heads for Florida with his wife, whose career path prompted the move, to tackle new and yet-to-be-seen opportunities.
“Geographically, I’ve seen the town change from basically a bedroom community to a much larger community that obviously boasts more retail and industrial space,” Boehm told the paper. “When I reflect back on 25 years here in the village, I’ve seen it grow substantially for the better in many different ways.
“It’s been a great career, and Woodridge is a great village... I love the diversity here; it’s one of the reasons I’ve stuck around as long as I have. This job has afforded me a lot of great opportunities, and I truly have enjoyed working here.”
