Village Adds Fourth Stop Sign to Westview/Everglade Intersection

A fourth stop sign has been added to the intersection of Westview Lane and Everglade Avenue in the neighborhood near  

The four-way intersection previously only had three stop signs -- if you were traveling on southbound Westview Lane, you didn't have to stop. 

The confusion of the set-up, as well as nearby school bus stops and pedestrian traffic pointed in favor of a fourth stop sign, according to Kate Croteau, management analyst for the  

The slope of the street prompted some against the stop, however, Croteau said. 

Public Works researched the intersection and retained Brent Coulter, Coulter Transportation LLC, to independently review the intersection. 

Coulter recommended a fourth stop sign to be put into place. The recommendation was approved at the June 9 village board meeting, and according to resident reports, the stop was added this week.
