Woodridge Park District Group Donates Over 5,000 Handmade Items

The active adult group, Crafting for a Cause, made and donated blankets, scarves, hats, pillows and more to local hospitals and groups.

Crafting for a Cause, a group of Woodridge Park District active adults, has been sewing, crocheting and knitting since 2015 and in 2019 alone, they made and donated over 5,000 homemade items. These homemade blankets, scarves, hats, pillows, dolls and even backpacks were donated to local groups and hospitals in need including the West Suburban Food Pantry, School District 68, the Woodridge VFW, Edward-Elmhurst Hospital, Almost Home Kids and more.

This close-knit group consists of about 32 members and meets every Tuesday afternoon at the Woodridge Community Center to plan and work on their crafting projects. For information about Crafting for a Cause or any Woodridge Park District active adult group, call (630)353-3300.
